New Orleans has traded for forward Darius Songaila and guard Bobby Brown from the Minnesota in exchange for guard Antonio Daniels and a 2014 second round pick. Hornets GM Jeff Bower felt the team needed depth at guard and power forward. Darius Songaila will backup starting forward David West, and provide experience coming off of the bench. Songaila is a veteran of six years, and started 29 games for the Wizards last year. His career averages are 7.0 points and 3.5 rebounds. Brown adds depth to the Hornets back court, as well as adding speed. It is unknown exactly what Brown's role will entail, however, he will be given the opportunity to fill in for starting point guard Chris Paul. Brown played in 68 games last year with Sacramento and Minnesota, averaging 5.3 points and 1.7 assists.
